1. Central Instrumentation Facility:
Our College has a Central Instrumentation Facility which provides advanced research facilities for the faculty members, research scholars and UG & PG students. Recently we have installed a Spectrofluorometer (Funded by DST- FIST) in the Department of Chemistry to study the fluorescence spectra of different compounds of medicinal & industrial field.
2. Solar panels have been installed on the roof top of the college building. It is generating power of 40 KVA & is contributing significantly to decrease carbon emission, thus saving the environment & plants & decreasing cost of electricity. Various research programs are continuing by the faculties of our college. Internship courses on Solar Power, i.e., Renewable Energy can be taught in our college under Calcutta University following National Education Policy (NEP) syllabus. Our college has Solar Power Laboratory.
Our college possesses Solar Power System of 40KVA. Solar panels have been installed on the roof top of the college building. The costing of electric bill has been decreased more than 50% than those of the previous bills, resulting the reduction in total expenditure of the college. The data procured from this solar system can be observed from the attached grid meter. Daily data of total power generated by solar panels, reduction of Carbon di oxide (CO2) and the saving of plants are obtained from the grid meter attached with the solar panels. The various types of researches are carried on with these data analyzing the carbon reduction in the atmosphere, the saving the environment and the plants. The instruments used here in this laboratory are Solar Panel, Solar Inverter, Solar Charge Controller, Solar Battery, Solar Light, Solar Fan, Solar CCTV Camera, Solar Cap, Solar Home Lighting System, Solar On-Grid System, Solar Off-Grid System. Solar Structure Making etc. It is also the incubation centre of Bangabasi College. Some training programmes on Solar Panel installation and Solar technology are carried on in this centre, which has recently been affiliated by NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation). Internship programmes according to National Education Policy (NEP) are also conducted in this centre. Various types of Research activities are reflected through National, International Level Seminars being performed very frequently. It becomes very rich participative learning programmes for the students.
